
The Miners look to take a quick two game break from league action this weekend with the first matchup against the Lake Eerie Monarchs tonight at 7. The Miners come off their first win of the season against the Goldpanners and hope to carry that momentum over.
In the first two games, the Miners have showed off all facets of their game. In the opener, the offense was what stuck out as a strength. The team quickly put up 5 runs in the first 4 innings of action showing a nice transition to the wood bats used in the ABL as opposed to the metal ones in college.
The Miners showed their prowess on the mound and in the field in game 2. The Goldpanners came to Hermon Borthers Field and could only leave with one run and that one wasn’t even earned. David Stilley (

This Monarchs team from the Great Lakes League is no push over beating the Glacier Pilots at Mulcahy Stadium yesterday 6-5. They have the advantage of having most of their players already with them. That’s something the Miners and every other ABL team is still waiting for.
