Miners' Morning March

Day Off?  What day off?  The team didn't have a baseball game Saturday, but that didn't mean the Miners had a free day.  The Colony Days parade was tinted green with the Miners sandwiched in between MTA (Matanuska Telephone) and the fire department.

So the players marched and had an earful of sirens throughout the morning.

"It's great," P/DH Will Musson said.  "It's nice to have that support from the town and walking in that parade, you feel like a professional.  I like the fans up here and the people are great."

"Moose" marched for the 2nd year with the club.  A great deal of the players marched in a parade for the first time.  But the day didn't end there.  With Fred Meyer day Sunday at the ballpark, the players had the daunting task of roaming the Palmer and Wasilla stores to give out free tickets to the game (which ended up being rescheduled from 2 p.m. to 7).  Stay tuned to see how many of those free tickets are actually used during the game.
